Another great ending..

World Cup will have the last match to night (or maybe I should put it early tomorrow morning). Well yes once again England team broke my heart at this World Cup just like they did it last four years (and four years before that). But hey, I still enjoying the heat of the event where for a month people keep talking about football and do everything around football. It’s such an amazing when with just one event people around the world just gather and put all the conflict of the world behind them and love each other (or hate each other) and prove sports can unite us all.

Can’t hardly noticed, when for most of people love to have the football fever for every four years; some of them have fever in total opposite direction. They just can cope with the heat and still wondering why people love to watch those stupid games. Why people can’t stop talking about it and what football games have anything to do with warehouse sale or cheese cake promotion. I felt sorry for them; this one whole month must be really a torture time and depressing.

For me, besides all the drama, the suspense and tense World Cup have offered, I like to take this once in four years event as my life marker. Some people like to have vision to what they will have or become in next 5 years. Me, I like to have four years vision. For every four years, during World Cup I like to remember when I was during the previous World Cup event. From there, really hard try to evaluate what I achieved from the past four years. Many things can happen or did I still the same person I am before? Was my life not changing much in all these years? By keep doing that every four years, somehow I’ll end up feel grateful for what I have, for love I have and be proud of myself for things I accomplished.

So the 2010 World Cup will end to night. Looking forward to the next World Cup after another four years. Can’t help it but feel excited to see what kind of person I’ll become or how my life will turn to be. ;)

p/s: It's football not soccer... :|

What a silly thing to do...

11 March 2010. Manchester United won the game versus A.C Milan and get through to the next round of Champions League. The game started around 3.45a.m (local time) and yes, I was there in front of the T.V set watched my hero Rooney scored twice in that game. And yes, the T.V set is at Mamak stall since T.V set at my place doesn’t have astro sport channel subscription. Yes again, I have to wake up around 4.00 am wash my face, grab my wallet and walk about 5 minutes from my home to that stall. Yes continue, it was cold, annoying bugs, and lousy Nescafe tarik I have.

NO... it’s not a silly thing to do.

For time to time, people around me keep asking what do I get from watching football game every week, even sometimes in early morning. What do I get from supporting my favourite team: Manchester United F.C? If it national team that I support, that will be understandable. If it local club, that might be a good reason to watch every game they have. To support a foreign football club and watch their game in early morning, somehow that been label as a silly thing to do. For people who still think so, this could be a good answer for you.

Do you like to ride rollercoaster? That’s the same amount of adrenaline pumping into your body when Rooney is about taking the penalty shootout. Do you like to go for fishing? The feeling of finally hook the fish is the same as your team score the winning ball at the final minute of the game. Crying when your favourite AF student have been voted out? That’s how devastating you feel when your team lose the important game. Horror movie really wake you up? That’s how it is when your team are chasing the goal. How it feel when your favourite rock band makes a tour near you? It feels same as the team come to play at your near stadium. OR maybe you are live theatre fans? It about the same with watching the live football match; the plot, the suspense, the conflict or even the hero and the villain. Plus it doesn’t have a script and you can’t predict how the ending will and sometimes it is a sad ending.

Some fans give everything to enjoy the feeling of watching football game. They paint their face, walk a miles to the stadium, queue a long lines to pay at Mamak counter or simply wear the same team jersey every week. If you still think that another level of stupidity, try to put it this way, each time you see fans crying because their team lose, imagine how joyful they will feel when the team is win. It simply as the more you give in the more you will get from it. The harder you cry when your team lose, the more you laugh when the team win – well sometimes some of them are still crying when the team win.

Fine, there are lots of other thing that can trigger the adrenaline rush or the happy tears or the suspense or whatever good feeling you can think of. But when the last time you experience those things?

Me, ...every weekend :D

Never thought it could be like this...
So I’m pursuing my master now. Nothing great about it, nothing cool just the expectation getting higher. High expectation from my family, my lecturer, from my friends, from my not so friends,... basically everybody. Somehow all people around me sound like post-graduate student such a big deal but to me, it just same old story. I just can see those days when I’m still under-graduate student. Same chaos, same partner in crime, same hot chicks, same politicians, same annoying things... only they took a different face right now but nothing else ever change.

At first, I thought this will be my ultimate challenge that will drive my life to different directions and I will struggle, expect the higher pressure, more challenging assignment, more demanding time spending and less fund to waste. Well, so far I’ve got all from those stuffs, except I never thought I will once again found the best people who the world call friends.

Never thought I will be this happy... :)

When they think they can do better..

When i was the head of unit, some of my staff like to talk behind me. I'm not good with my job... always come late... bla bla bla... breakfast at mamak on office hour bla bla bla... makan gaji buta... bla bla bla..

Some people just think they can do the job better. When I decided to quit the job and leave it to someone who always think he can do better, almost everybody at the department think that things will start to be improving.

Who know that things just repeated itself again. Actually, much worse. Some of the staff even claim now days they have to eat 'ubi kayu' like the age of penjajahan Jepon. 'AND somehow i feel it funny that they start to complain about the 'NEW' Head of Unit to me. Yeah behind the new HoU back... just like they use to talk about me behind my back... LOL

This is The End

Mr HOD: “I have a feeling that the boys seem try to find new job”.
Me: “What make you think so, sir?”

Mr HOD: “I dun know, I just can feel it”

Me: “Let’s say, they really looking for new job, in your opinion, why they want to do something like that?”
Mr HOD: “Not sure but maybe they are looking for more..” (rub his finger make a money signal).
Me: “Is that what you really think sir?” (at this rate, I can feel my face turn into raging red or maybe green… if only I have chance to look at the mirror).

Mr HOD: “Maybe, I don’t know.” (Pause for 3 seconds). “Tell me, do you have plan to leave?”.

Me: “Yes sir”

Mr HOD: “What? But why? When?”.
Me: “Actually, I plan to submit my resignation letter by today”.

Mr HOD: “What? Why you want to leave?”
Me: “Sir, somebody from top management once asks me this question on my early day… How long you want to work here? And please be honest because this is wakaf project and we don’t want to waste resource for people who want to stay short. My answer is… I will work here as long this (company name) need me.”

Mr HOD: “Yes of course we still need you here. You doing good as Head of Unit. We need you here".
Me: Fuck you!!! (I really want to said that out loud… but I manage to keep it only on my head).
Me: Sorry sir, I don’t feel it anymore.

The conversation continues for another 10min but I already decided to leave.

I’m having enough with these Arabic people. What a lifetime experience. From now on working with Arabic company with Arabic people in it as management will be the last thing I will do.

People work for different things, some work for money. I won’t be working there if money is my first priority. All I need is recognition on my contribution; sadly many company’s management thinks people only driven by money and greedy.

So this is the end of fulltime multimedia designer job.. hello to new era of CIMB Professional Unit Trust Consultant ;)

Law of Attraction 2: See it in Islam

Before you continue to read, please remember that this is only an individual opinion and doesn’t represent thought of the group.

Law of Attraction said whatever your project in your mind will come to you. Good things or even bad things. It’s your choice. Try to imagine this scenario...

You driving in the middle of highway with no gas station near and your gas meter don’t look good. You keep think that your car will run out of gas and you definitely will stuck there. Then your mind start wandering what will happen next. What if this car stops in this middle of heavy traffic? Need to pull over on the side and somebody drive behind you will definitely not happy. Why should they? You already cause heavy traffic jam. The best you can think is to call someone for gas rescue. What if nobody around to answer your phone call? That mean you have to call tow service to help you out which will cost you lots of money. Damn, you only have 10 ringgit in your wallet and your credit card is already full. Need to find ATM fast. While your mind keeps drifting, without surprisingly you car is really stop moving.

Now, at the first glance it was a normal situation and I bet most of us have the similar experience before. It’s just a human nature to expect the worst thing to happen and create chain of event in our mind. What law of attraction claimed is that when you expect, really sure and confirm in your mind that bad thing will happen to you, it will come to hunt you. The right thing to do in that kind of situation is always having positive mind and put in your mind that things will end well. In short (refer to the scenario above), you shouldn’t think about find the ATM while your car isn’t really stop moving. Instead, keep the positive mind that your car will survive until the next gas station and nothing worst will happen to you. By this way, good things will happen even things that you least expected. The key is to have positive mind all the times.

Back to my discussion about how Islam already teach this theory in our daily life. Any of you familiar with the concept of ‘Tawakal’? If you are Muslim, sure you do. ‘Tawakal’ means have a good faith. Believe that Allah S.W.T will help us in the way that sometimes that our tiny mind couldn’t think off. Islam believe that Allah S.W.T who is most merciful will always give help to whom who have faith in Him and never doubt of his ability. There you go, we as a Muslim always been repeat to keep positive mind in everything we do.

As a Muslim we have been obliged to always pray to Allah S.W.T for everything that we need. It was a simple practice. If you need something, pray (Doa) for it, keep working on it and never give up. It was so simple that many of us keen to forget the very important thing in Doa. When you ask for something, make sure you mean it. Make sure you understand it well. When you ask to Allah S.W.T that you want to be rich, make sure you truly believe that you can be rich. That’s why Islam teach us: when you ask for forgiveness from Allah S.W.T, you have to truly mean it and determine not to do it again and Allah will forgive you as long it’s not something you owe the forgiveness from other human. Be also know that Doa doesn’t have to be in Arabic (unless that have been perform in solat) and if you were in jamaah find out what the Imam is ask in his Doa.

The more I read about Law of Attraction the more I noticed that Islam already teach us many of those things. It’s an advantage, really but too bad we seldom put it into practice. I urged you to at least read Law of attraction and try to understand the logic behind the explanation. Take everything that can be align with our believes in religion and discard things that not. Don’t be surprise to know that one of the methods in Law of Attraction practice: to train the positive mind is to always feel grateful for what you have in your life. Be grateful in our life? That sound so familiar, isn’t it? Should I explain more? No I don’t.

Law of attraction

I heard about it so many long times ago, and somehow people keep repeating to me about this theory over and over again. So this what I will do.. I will repeat this thing to you and someone else will do it over and over again.

What is the law of attraction?
Do me a favor and google yourself the detail. I will just try to explain the idea behind this theory (the way I understand it). Law of attraction said “… Every time you think of something, your mind will send signal to the universe, as the result the thing will attract and coming to you...” ‘Thing’ could be your objective, or dream car, dream house or even simply the parking space you needed at the mall.

Let’s put a scenario for the example. You like to have good sports car that will cost you lots of your lunch money (or cigarette money). What you have to do is to keep projecting the image of you driving that car until your subconscious mind (claimed as the most powerful part of the brain) truly believe that’s the actually what happen and not just your imaginary. Those projecting image must be in detail like what the car look like, the model series, the color, the sound each time you push the gas pedal and even the smell of leather seats… basically everything that can really convince your subconscious mind that you already have that car. By successfully do these, the universe will find a way to send the car coming to you. Either by you successfully save money to buy it or even simply as a present from someone. One way or other, you will get the car. It’s like your mind is the magic lamp and universe is the genie who will grant your wish. Be careful thou, because any negative thought will work on the same way.

According to the people who study this theory, law of attraction is happening around you either you like it or not. There is no way to dodge it, but still you can learn on how to control and manipulate this nature law. Sound tricky, isn’t it? Of course, there are ways to learn this type of mind skill but I’m not interested to write it here. Not just because it needs heavy detail on explanation (which is pain in the a** to write it all), but you can get better presentation by book or video on this theory from lot of sources out there.

I urge you to dig more about this, because it’s really interesting once you have known how the idea works.

Wait… How can I forget…

There are always to 3 types of people resist to hear more each time I talk about this theory before:

1st group, will think this theory is all bulls*** and the theory is simply created by loser who want to restore hope in their pathetic life.
2nd group who think the theory must have some sort of trick or into one point just too good to be true.
3rd group who just can’t take the idea simply because it was against their believes in religion.

For the 1st group: you will be surprise to know people who actually practice this theory. Some of them are really well known for their success.
For the 2nd group: you from all of the people should learn more about this theory and find the flaw and prove it.
For the 3rd group: you are the same group as me who think this theory is not aligning with our believes in religion. As a Muslim I have a doubt on this theory at the beginning but after gave a closer look, I can’t helped it but to notice that some of the basic theory is already been taught in Islam. Just the matter on either we notice it or not.

So if you are part of those groups, give yourself a chance because maybe it worth to give a second look of this theory and learn more about it.

**next: my personal opinion on how Islam already taught law of attraction but most of us failed to adapt to its full potential.
